PERCUSSION+ is the ideal title for this project which showcases a rich variety of musical grooves drawn from Pop, Rock, Latin, and Classical styles. Ihe tocus is on rhythm, groove, pulse, tempo, accents, dynamics, textures and color, interpreted with precision and energy by the Musicus Percussion Ensemble, loined by quest multi-instrumentalist Ko-bert Len. The Percussion + project was recorded July 1999, at Montreal's Claude Champagne Concert Hall on a Nagra Tanalog recorder at 15 ips on BASF Sm468 tape. The recording was done using A-B stereo microphone technique, using a pair of omni Bak 1 inch measurement microphones. There were additional vintage tube microphones on many percussion and voice (Neumann M49, U67, AKG C12). The recording and mix were done live on a Studer model 089 console. Overdubs by multi-instrumentalist Robert Len were recorded at 2xHD's studio, using a Neumann M50 and Josephson C617 microphones.
